I bought a new bicycle to ride to work. Its about 4 miles from my house to my office so I thought it might be cool to ride my bike to work. A little bit of a workout before work can’t hurt. Here is the bike I bought:

What is a tweet? Its a post to Twitter.com. What is a Twitter? Its a service that lets you keep in touch with friends and family by answering a simple question. “What are you up to?” I’ve been using it for a little less than a year now and its great.

The reason I’m adding it to my blog is that I also just signed up for a new service from qik.com that lets me post video straight from my cell phone to the web. Once I post the video, or while I’m shooting the video live, a tweet is sent out to my friends. So for those of you that don’t use twitter but happen to be browsing the blog, you’ll be able to watch the video live. Technology is so cool.

I refreshed the layout of the site today.  I found this theme on another blog and given that its released under the creative commons license, I decided to give it a go.

I’ve been using Facebook recently and I really like it.  I’ve reconnected with several high school friends and I find it really easy to keep in touch with people that don’t live in the same city.  Rather than calling or emailing these out of town friends every so often to see what is new, I log into Facebook which brings that information to me.  So if a friend uploads new photos from a vacation, I can see that.  With content that is delivered directly to me, it really makes it easy to stay in touch with a large group of people.

Unfortunately, only younger people or very tech savvy people are using Facebook.  I’d be hard pressed to get my parents to use it and even my brother scoffed at the idea.

This is the way of the future people.

We are in NY right now living it up with my family.  Had a few nice days at the beach, the city and the pool.  We are winding down our trip and should be back home on Tuesday night.  I’ve got some photos and videos but I don’t think I’m going to get a chance to post them until I get back from the trip.  I just haven’t had too much time in front of the computer which turns out to be a very good thing.

The University of Texas Longhorn mascot Bevo (Bevo 13) who was the longest running mascot passed away this week. The longhorn basically reached his life expectancy and had trouble standing. His heart gave way before they had to put him down. Here is a photo of Bevo from the Ohio State game that I attended this past year.
