The summer is here and if you live in a warm state like Texas you probably do a lot of outdoor activities like for example hiking. I love to hike and I love gear so here is my list of my favorite 2015 outdoor hiking gear.
Keen Uneek sandals
Is it a sandal or is it a shoe? Its a shoe made with para-cord giving you the support of a shoe but the airiness of a sandal. They are very comfortable, can get wet and give you enough support to go on long hikes. Its a departure from a normal looking sandal but on the trail nobody will notice.

Boreas Lost Coast backpack
I’m a big fan of backpacks from Boreas Gear and I think their Lost Cost 60L is the perfect multi-day hiking pack. It fits a lot of gear and is very comfortable. There are compression straps, lots of zippers, water proof pockets and more. It also looks great.

Millet — Alpine LTK 800 sleeping bag
This is a great warm weather ultra light sleeping bag. It packs small, is made of water repellent material, and will work in three seasons.

Casio Protrek Manaslu Multiband 6 PRX-7000t-7JF
Okay this one is expensive. The Casio Protrek line of watches is a must have for serious hikes. It has a barometer for predicting weather, an altimeter for tracking how high you are and a compass for setting your direction. Its a fantastic tool and this model is totally analog. It does away with the digital dials to put all of those features on an analog watch face. Its bad-ass.

Arc’teryx Beta LT Jacket
I highly recommend investing in a hardshell jacket. A good one will last you many hiking seasons and you can use it year round to keep dry in the rain. I think Arc’teryx makes the best and this model is my favorite.

That’s my list. I’d love to see your list below in the comments. Let me know what you are planning on buying for this year’s summer hiking season.
