I travel a lot and end up working in environments that have distracting background noise — honking cars, talking patrons, airplane engines, etc.. With Noizio a new app for the Mac I can setup awesome ambient sounds to drown that stuff away and better focus on my work.
Noizio is a simple menubar app that comes with a bunch of premastered sounds like rain, thunder, wind, and campfire. You can mix them in to a track very simply by turning them on and then choosing volume levels for each one. Click play and you’ll get a great ambient mix. When you want to turn it off just click stop.
It also supports Airplay so you can stream it to your Airplay devices like your TV, bluetooth speakers, Apple TV, etc.. It sounds really good blasting through my living room. My neighbors think its really raining!
I’ve been using it for a few days now and its great. I don’t know why someone didn’t create this years ago. Its perfect and you can download it for free from the Mac App store.
